You have heard of all the wonderful benefits of hiring a doula, but are unsure when you are supposed to hire one. I get this questions all the time! It is pretty common for people who are unfamiliar with midwives and doulas to accidentally mix up what their roles are. For instance, I have been asked if I catch babies as a birth doula more times than I can count! Both midwives and doulas are powerful additions to your birth team.
