Kaleidoscope, OKC LGBTQ Family Support Group

What is an LGBTQ Family Support Group?

LGBTQ Family Support groups like Kaleidoscope offer peer to peer support to LGTBQ+ Families whether they are partnered parents, single parents, those considering adoption or surrogacy, pregnant persons, parents of LGBTQ children, and/or allies.

Our Vision Statement reflects that of the Family Equality Council.

We envision a future where all Oklahoman LGBTQ families, regardless of creation or composition, live in a community that recognizes, respects, protects, and values them. Kaleidoscope was created in the hopes of creating strong community connections between central Oklahoma City families. We wholeheartedly believe that support & representation matters.

We envision a world in which every LGBTQ person has the right and the opportunity to form and sustain a loving family, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, race, religion, national origin, geography, socioeconomic status, disability, or the intersection of those characteristics. We envision systems of service & support within Oklahoma that are free of discrimination and that maximize opportunities for LGBTQ youth needing permanency and LGBTQ adults seeking family formation through adoption, foster care, assisted reproductive technology or other means.

Who Can Join Kaleidoscope Meetings?

Kaleidoscope is intended for single & partnered LGBTQ+ parents, LBTGQ+ identifying children, parents of LBTGQ+ identifying children, those who are on their LGBTQ+ conception journey, as well as allies and family members.

How often does Kaleidoscope Meet?

The support group meets monthly for playdates at the park and also indoors at the Thrive Mama Collective in Plaza District OKC. Kaleidoscope was created by and is facilitated by Jennifer Jenkins.

As of June 2023, Kaleidoscope is reorganizing & creating new meet ups!
