What is Nurture Oklahoma?

I created the Nurture Oklahoma Live Series so that those in our Oklahoma community and beyond can connect with local Oklahoman birth and wellness professionals. From birth photographers, doulas, and midwives, there are several passionate professionals for you to learn about! Nurture Oklahoma is also a wonderful opportunity to get to know the people working so hard behind these local businesses. Nurture is for families in Oklahoma who would like to get to know what wellness and birth professionals are providing support in their area and who the professionals are behind their business. It is important to find professionals that you feel the most comfortable with and can help support you in your wellness of birth goals when making a decision about your care. Yet, Nurture is also a great opportunity for anyone, regardless of where they live, to learn more about the different types of wellness and birth professionals and how their services could positively benefit their family.

Who is Deanna Norris?

Deanna is a Licensed Certified Professional Midwife in the state of Oklahoma. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Midwifery from the Midwives College of Utah. Deanna is also a Placenta Arts Specialist which includes things services like Placenta Encapsulation. She proudly offers holistic Midwifery care for low-risk clients who are seeking home birth or community birth, who remain low-risk throughout pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. Her care is inclusive, welcoming families of all race, faiths, belief systems, background, family dynamics, sexual orientations, and gender identifications. She also happily offers support for water birth, women over 35, non-traditional family structures, late to care transfers, as well as other dynamics on a case by case basis. Jenni Jenkins – Sekine is an Oklahoma City Bereavement, Birth, & Postpartum doula and Child Birth Educator who serves her Central Oklahoma community. She is also a midwifery assistant with Holistic Birthing Services and began her journey as a student midwife with the Midwives College of Utah in 2022.

Jenni is also the creator & facilitator of the Kaleidoscope OKC LGBTQ Family Support Group & the Nurture Oklahoma Live Interview Series.
